Statement from Congressman Luke Messer on the Passage of the Senate Immigration Bill
(Washington, D.C.)— Today, Congressman Luke Messer gave the following statement on the passage of the Senate immigration bill:
“The Senate immigration bill that passed today is just the beginning of this legislative debate. Our immigration system is broken and badly in need of repair. There is an opportunity for reform this summer.
However, any reform must first address border security, include stricter employment verification systems and ensure that folks who came here illegally are not treated better than those who have followed the law. ”
